The 2023 WorkDaze Holiday Gift Guide šŸŽ„

ā€˜Tis the season!

Hi, friends! Anyone else blink in July and itā€™s now somehow December?? I swear this year has gone by faster than my lunch breaks. And suddenly Iā€™m panicking about what to gift my friends and family for the *checks notes* 13th year in a row.

For anyone stuck on gift ideas for your loved onesā€¦have no fear, the 2023 WorkDaze Holiday Gift Guide is here! To make your lives a little easier this holiday season, weā€™ve compiled a list of things we actually use (or really want to use) down below.

The only thing we love more than a good candle is a good cause! Which is why weā€™re obsessed that Groove candle helps provide meals to those in need with every purchase. šŸ«¶

Iā€™m 100% willing to risk looking like Sandra Bullock in Bird Box for this portable eye massager

Cozy and budget-friendly? Muji socks FTW.

FYI: The Lisa Frank Dolphin is totally my spirit animal. Gift your friends these Lisa Frank stickers to instantly transport them back to middle school, popped collars optional.

Thereā€™s gotta be something said about viewfinders: only 7 photos, yet they kept us occupied for hours?! Find some of your favorite photos and create a custom RetroViewer for someone you have a lot of special memories with.

A Chicago hot dog kit?! Say less. Send someone a food kit from one of their favorite restaurants from afar with Goldbelly. Such a cozy and thoughtful idea for the nights when you donā€™t feel like eating Christmas tree slice-and-bake cookies for dinner.

Itā€™s giving the Great British Bake Off. We all have that one friend who always comes through with the homemade treats. Buy them this online cake design class by Udemy so they can perfect their craft (and you can continue with your hopes of being their taste tester).

Your TikTok obsessed coworker (definitely them and not meā€¦) needs this time management gadget to help them control their scroll throughout the day.

My friend Toni Lodgeā€™s memoir, I Donā€™t Need Therapy (And Other Lies Iā€™ve Told Myself), is equal parts hilarious and eye-opening, a perfect read for the funny bookworm in your life!

I was going to say Ariana Madix deserves a drink after the year sheā€™s had, but, ope, she wrote a whole darn cocktail book instead. In Single AF Cocktails, she tells the story of her past relationship that eventually led to Scandoval, pairing themed cocktails with each chapter.

In an effort to avoid your coworkerā€™s rotting bananas on their desk, perhaps these incredibly weird but also very cute Nana Hats will come in handy?

Chicago fun fact: Last year we had a 43-day period with just one day of sunshine. Ever since I started standing  in front of my Verilux HappyLight Luxe Light Therapy Lamp for 10 minutes each morning, I swear my email responses have been more enthusiastic. Your midwest friends will thank you.

You know youā€™re a geriatric millennial when you sleep on your neck wrong once and then you canā€™t turn your head for the next three weeks. The Theragun Mini is a game-changer, and gifting one will easily bump you to #1 on your friendsā€™ Top 8.

Itā€™s called ā€œballinā€™ on a budget.ā€ Save some money and make DIY body scrub for your pals. A few of our favorites weā€™ve found?

We all have that friend who has a bajillion notes in their phone yet no idea what any of them mean. This Hatch project planner, business idea planner, and idea journal is the best present for them.

We all canā€™t be Picasso, okay?! Buy this paint by numbers kit for someone in your life who appreciates the arts but maybe needs a little help when it comes to creating their first masterpiece.

Chicago (Rod): My talented friend, Jonathan Keating, designs customized painted sneakers, with whatever design of your choosing. Perfect for the sneakerhead in your life!

New York (Ali & Kinsey): We love a reduce, reuse, recycle moment, which is why we love Verloop! The Brooklyn-based knitwear company uses textile waste and excess deadstock yarn to create all sorts of fun knit items

Detroit (Gabi): Detroit-based company Detroit Rose has the most delicious candle scents (buy the Mistletoe one, trust me!) plus natural skincare that rocks too! Oh, and did we mention they give back to the community with their sales?!

Los Angeles (Jenny): Hi yes, weā€™d like our entire apartments to look like Some Septemberā€™s store, please! From holiday decor to vintage finds, this women-owned shop has the most chic household items and decor.

Give back: We love our educators! If youā€™re looking to donate this holiday season, check out these classroom wishlists from some of our amazing readers!

Things To Send Your Work Besties

ā€¦while you holiday shop online on company time.

Iā€™ve said it once, and Iā€™ll say it againā€¦work can just be work. I chatted with Insider about how climbing the ladder isnā€™t for everyone and thatā€™s perfectly okay!

Absolutely obsessing over this viral snow globe cocktail/mocktail idea that I will be using for the foreseeable future and all holiday season long.

Our ancestors are looking down at this list of most commonly used slang terms that teens use and have never been more confused. IYKYKā€¦I guess?

P.S. Why yes I did make an absolute banger millennial holiday playlist on Spotify, thanks for asking. And while youā€™re at it, check out last weekā€™s Work Life Wrapped

P.P.S. As Queen Miley once said, ā€œEverybody makes mistakes.ā€ And we want to hear about ones youā€™ve made at work that actually taught you a thing or two. Reply to this email and let ā€˜er rip for a chance to be featured in next weekā€™s edition. Ofc you will be anonymous!

Thatā€™s all for today, friends! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have the best rest of your week, and try not to work too hard! Hope you buy yourself something nice :)

IDK WHAT DO I KNOW?! LMAO!
