How to ask for what you want
The worst they can say is no

Hey you guys! Did you know that it’s physically impossible to hum while pinching your nose shut. Bet you just tried it, didn’t you?
Song of the day: “Stop The Wedding” by Ashe has been in our heads for the last few days, and it’s so good that we think it should be in yours too!

How To Ask For What You Want

I (hi, it’s Gabi!) was sitting at a bar the other day, yapping with the bartender, when she started talking about how if we never ask for the things we want, we won’t ever get them. Now, her example involved asking a complete stranger for $100 and actually getting it with zero explanation (LOL, to each their own!!), but it sure got me thinking about how important it is to express our wants and needs.
Whether it’s asking for a raise, communicating what you need in a relationship, or asking a friend for a favor, sometimes the only thing standing between you and what you want is the courage to ask for it. So, let’s talk about why we need to stop letting the fear of hearing “no” keep us from the hearing the “yes” we deserve.
Asking for a Raise at Work 💸
Why: You’re working hard and taking on more responsibilities, but you’re afraid your boss will say no.
What happens if you ask? Maybe you get the pay bump, learn what it takes to earn one, or discover what opportunities are available. If you never ask for the raise or communicate all of the extra work you’re doing that deserves one, you may never know what’s possible
Asking for What You Need in a Relationship ❤️
Why: You want more communication, consistency, or commitment, but you’re afraid of seeming needy or pushing the other person away.
What happens if you ask? The person you’re seeing may be willing to meet your needs, or when you communicate what you need, you may discover you want different things. Either way, you gain clarity instead of silently settling.
Asking a Friend for A Favor 🫂
Why: You need help, support, or a favor, but you don’t want to feel like a burden.
What happens if you ask? Look, we know that asking someone for help can be a shot to our ego sometimes, but we can all use a boost sometimes! Your friend may be happy to help, or they may not be able to. At least you give them the opportunity to show up for you instead of assuming they won’t.
Got a Q? We wanna hear it here!

… after you order your dog’s dinosaur halloween costume for this year.

Potato chip s’mores?! What will they think of next?!
