How to survive the holidays at the office

'Tis the szn

Hi friends! We hope everyone who celebrated had a nice Thanksgiving… we’re still full from the twenty helpings of stuffing (the superior Tgivs dish) we had.

Today’s tunes: As The Eras Tour comes to an end, the resurfacing of The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection begins.

Surviving The Holidays At The Office

‘Tis the season for “let’s circle back in the new year” emails, extended vacays, and white elephant gift exchanges. We know the holidays aren’t everyone’s favorite, and that’s okay! So this year, we’re talking about a few things we can all do to hopefully find some joy while protecting our peace.

It’s okay to say no: (we’ve said it once, and we’ll keep saying it forever) Just because your office has a white elephant gift exchange doesn’t mean you have to take part. If trying to find that desktop putt-putt you got at the last office holiday party will be what sets you off this year, just leave it buried.

This goes for the company potluck too! If you feel like one of your required in-office days will be dedicated to eating lukewarm mashed potatoes out of your coworker's Tupperware, sounds like you may be “sick” that day.

And listen, as two culture carriers ourselves, we actually love the company cookie exchange. So if you’re all about that holiday office cheer, keep doing your thing!

Gift-giving etiquette: One year, Rod was gifted the wrong size Crocs in company colors. 🫠. Company-branded swag is so yesterday! If you’re given a budget to gift your employees something, think of practical things that they’ll actually use. Coffee shop gift cards are always a safe bet!

Use your PTO: FRIENDLY REMINDER!! We know Q4 can be a crazy time for taking last-minute vacation days, but PTO is there for you to use! There’s still some time between now and the holidays to plan ahead and get your work done so you can enjoy that much-needed time off.

Remember to give yourself (and others!) some grace this holiday season. We’re all just trying to make it to the new year without throwing a fruitcake at anyone.

…while you finally peek at your bank account after Black Friday shopping. 🥴

Can confirm after last weekend that this Puff Pastry Brie Bites recipe by _amandafrancis is equally as easy to make as it is delish!

Thanks so much for hanging out today! We’ll be back next week. In the meantime, stay warm out there!
