Ins and outs of 2025
A job's a job!
Hi friends! We’d say “Happy New Year,” but we’re past the week cutoff so we’ll refrain. But we do hope everyone had a safe, restful, and cozy holiday season. Back from our much-needed break we’re coming in hot with some As for your Qs today!
Today’s tunes: On this exact day 20 years ago “Over and Over” by Tim McGraw and Nelly hit #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart and was, of course, being played over and over in the carpool.
Need some advice? We have an A for you here!
Ins and Outs of 2025
question
As we start a new year, I’m looking for a little inspiration on how I can start this one off right. Do you guys have any ins and outs of 2025? —Q.
answer
To quote The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Lola Tong…
Resolutions are commonly made to support healthy habits and make us feel better. But we’ve found that if we don’t stick to our original resolutions (only 1% of people surveyed say their resolution lasted 12 months long), we end up feeling worse about ourselves.
So, while we’re not giant fans of making resolutions (we love that for you if you are though!), we appreciate some good ins and outs for the next 12 months. Check out some that topped our list below.
P.S. We talk about our lists below and then some on today’s episode of Are You Mad At Me?, so be sure to listen!

A Job’s a Job!
question
I struggle with other people not seeing my store manager position as a “regular” 9-5 office job. Any advice to validate and/or move past this? —J.
answer
We re-branded WorkDaze and moved away from solely talking about corporate jobs because there are A LOT of jobs out there that aren’t 9-5s! A few key points here:
A job’s a job. Any situation where you work for a paycheck is a job, regardless of the environment or schedule. People rely on you in your role as much as they rely on your friend who types “following up on this” 50 times a day.
No one knows wtf is going on anyway. A lot of people don’t even know what exactly their friends do for work, which would explain why some people would make you feel like this (even though they’re still wrong).
You know your truth. Coming from two people trying to care less about what others think (adding this to our ins list above) let’s try and not listen to those who think their job is superior. At the end of the day, you know the hard work you’re putting into your role and you don’t need to prove it to anyone. (Except your boss because you deserve a raise 😉 ).
Got a Q? We wanna hear it here!
…after you judge Golden Globes looks on the couch in the same sweatpants you’ve been wearing for days.
Nothing better than the perfect bite! And Alextref’s frozen egg hack/recipe on Instagram gives us the best one every time.
Speaking of not knowing wtf is going on…what about those drones? Bowen Yang’s SNL skit had us ROFL!
The next time you feel you don’t belong and want to throw in the towel, just watch Demi Moore’s first-ever award acceptance speech from the Golden Globes. We’re not crying, you’re crying.
Thanks so much for reading you guys! We’re so happy to start a new year with you all, let’s make it a good one!
