Is it time for a raise?

Get your bag

Hi guys! Hope your week has been off to a good start! Ours has been consumed with Pope memes, and our minds are still blown that he’s probably had Portillo’s.

Song of the day: Miley’s new single, “More to Lose,” is giving “The Climb” vibes, and we’re loving it.

How to Know When It’s Time for a Raise

Money’s never a fun thing to talk about, unless, of course, it’s the surprise lump of cash you recently discovered in your Venmo account. So when it comes to asking for a raise, we understand how nerve-wracking it can be. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it!

We love following the tried and true rule of “you never know if you don’t ask,” and that’s the energy you need to bring to your boss’s office. But for now, let’s chat about a few key indicators that prove that the right time might be now.

1. You’ve taken on more responsibility

If you’re doing your job and the job of your co-worker, whose favorite pastime includes looping you into emails, it’s probably time to schedule a money meeting with your boss. You were hired with a salary to do the responsibilities outlined in your job description, if your job becomes increasingly more than that, you need to be compensated.

2. You consistenly kick ass at your job

If you’re crushing your work goals all the while sending GIFs to coworkers that have them LOL’ing across the office, set up a meeting with your boss about some extra cash. Clearly outlining expectations up front will help you understand exactly what you need to do to get that extra moolah.

3. You haven’t had a pay bump in over a year

Yearly raises are the norm, or at least they should be! Reflect on all of the things you’ve accomplished this year (including showing your manager how to save a PDF), and write them down. That way, you’ll be able to show you’re worth more than a pizza party and an appreciation email when it comes time.

...while answering emails and getting your steps in on your walking pad.

Treat of the week alert! Run, don’t walk to the store to get the ingredients for Megsescapades’ No-Bake Strawberry Tiramisu.

May we all channel Gabby Windey the next time we think we have FOMO…

We were today-years-old when we learned Dermot Mulroney is an accomplished cello player who’s played on soundtracks including Star Wars, Hairspray, and Inside Out!

Thanks so much for hanging with us today! Remember, only two more sleeps until the weekend… we can do it!
