It’s okay to change your mind!

No one knows what's going on anyway

Hiiii friends! Like our new look? After one and a half years of WorkDaze, we decided to switch things up around here. So with that, we want to reintroduce ourselves…

We’re Rod and Gabi, two coworkers turned besties, and the team that makes up WorkDaze!

While this newsletter began as a resource for all things work-related, we’ve realized (and have heard from you, too!) that there’s a lot more to talk about than our silly little jobs, so that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

From work advice to Gabi’s nightmare dating stories (LOL, spooky!), we’ll be yapping about everything life throws our way. And while we promise to keep answering your Qs about work, we’re opening the floor to cover a lot more, so hit us with any and all questions and topics you want us to cover.

But enough about us! Today, we’re talking about change and how it’s okay to switch things up, even as grown-ass adults.

Today’s tunes: At Rod’s request and sticking to this week’s theme, we’re bopping to “Changes” (the Shrek 2 version ofc).

It’s Okay To Change Your Mind

Making decisions is hard. Especially when these days they’re more like, “How much should I contribute to my 401k?” and less like, “Should I get the chicken or steak burrito from Chipotle?” It’s okay not to be the same person you were five years ago (or five minutes ago when you actually wanted the chicken burrito bowl). In fact, it’s good that you aren’t. The more we live, the more we learn, which often means change.

So, in true we-don’t-know-what-we’re-doing fashion, we present a non-exhaustive list of big and small things we think are fine to change your mind about.

🏡Where you live. Gabi headed out to LA less than a year ago, decided that there’s actually “no place like home,” and is moving to Detroit in a month. Go, Lions!

🌈Who you love. Life’s too short not to smooch who you want to smooch. Whoever that may be, we fully support it.

👨‍💻Your career. Remember when you thought your career path was climbing the corporate ladder? While Rod’s career path seems unique, it proves that skills are transferable. I.e., Going from sales to making silly little videos for the internet.

🔮What your future looks like. Maybe that dream of buying a mansion in the suburbs has changed into more of renting an apartment in the city. Either way, we still want to be invited to the BBQ!

👭Your friendships. Not everyone we once swapped friendship bracelets with will grow and change how we need them to (and vice versa), and that’s okay!

🇺🇸Your political/religious beliefs. Your views are bound to change as you live and experience life. Let them!

Changing our minds is the result of living, learning, and growing. Remember to give yourself some grace when you’re faced with tough decisions. We believe in you and know you’ll make the right ones!

…as we think about changing our minds.

Ethan Rode’s Espresso Martini Mousse recipe on Instagram has us singing Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” repeatedly in our heads.

As if we needed one more reason to love Hannah Berner! We literally lol’d (and honestly still are) the entire way through her new Netflix special We Ride At Dawn. A must-watch!!

Rod’s The Return of Top 8 is happening this weekend in Chicago, and there’s still time to grab tickets! If you wanna bop to your favorite bangers from the 00s and still get a full 10 hours of sleep… you’ve come to the right place!

Thanks so much for reading! We hope you like our new little look as much as we do! We can’t wait to yap with you guys each and every Wednesday. See you next week! 🫶
