Read this if you're feeling behind in life

Be where your feet are

Hiii friends! We haven’t done a word of the day in a while, so we’re bringing it back this week: Bumfuzzle. To get someone all mixed up or turned around in their thinking.

“I get bumfuzzled every time someone starts trying to explain a card game to me.”

Song of the day: Rod’s still thinking about getting to see Olivia Dean live at Lollapalooza, so we’re obviously going to keep listening and living for the moment.

Have a Q for WorkDaze or the podcast? Let’s hear it.

Read This If You’re Feeling Behind In Life

Another friend got married… you’re still single. An acquaintance got your dream job… you’ve been in the same one for five years. One of your best friends just announced they’re having a baby… while your 25-year-old-self thought you’d have three by now.

In this age of constant connection to everyone’s lives through technology, especially social media, it’s not crazy to start to feel like you’re missing out and behind in life if yours doesn’t compare.

So instead of spiraling about what you absolutely can’t control, let’s talk about some things to remember that you’re exactly where you need to be.

Pat yourself on the back about the things you don’t post. Not every accomplishment comes with a photo, announcement, or likes. Dont forget that coming out on top of a hard year, making new friends, paying your bills, cleaning out your closet or finally talking to a therapist all count!

Practice being happy for others without bringing yourself into it. Your friend’s big life moment is something to celebrate, not something that should make you panic about your own timeline. Appreciate their happiness instead of making it a reason to question your own.

Turn the comparison into motivation. If there’s something you genuinely want, pick one small, realistic goal and start working toward it. Giving yourself something to move toward is a great distraction from sitting around thinking about when your turn will be.

Just remember, no two lives have ever been the same. Embrace the good, learn from the bad, and do your best to live a life full of happiness with lots of love and laughter throughout.

…after you switch your closet back to your summer clothes because it’s one million degrees in September.

I fear (hi, it’s Gabi!) that my latest hyperfixation is the Ninja Creami! Next up on the recipe menu? Biscoff Protein Ice Cream.

This old interview with Julia Roberts perfectly describes how incredibly special Dolly Parton was. ❤️

DYK that cinnamon on lemon is supposed to taste like Coca-Cola?! Social Sami tries weird food combos so we don’t have to.

Thanks for rocking with us today! We’ll see you back here again soon.
