The official Millennial summer toy hall of fame
SPF with your BFF

Hey friends! We hope you’re all out there having an amazing summer, soaking up the sun, eating too many bomb pops, and dipping your toes in some cool pools of H2O!
Song of the day: “Think about that summer and I bug 'cause I miss it.” We’re taking it back to the good old days with a little LFO on this summer day.

Was there anything better than running around outside until the streetlights came on, with no idea what the Sunday Scaries were? Yeah, we’d give just about anything for one more 90s/00s summer day.
So, in honor of the good old days, we’re taking a nostalgic trip back to the summer toys and games that kept us entertained for hours, and may or may not have been the cause of an ER trip or two.
Sky Dancers There was something so majestic about pulling the string on these bad boys and watching them soar through the sky… until they got stuck in the neighbor’s tree and you had to beg your parents to get the ladder. | ![]() |
Skip-It Skip-It walked so Apple Watches could run. Before we were obsessing over steps and closing our rings, we were determined to beat our sibling’s score one skip at a time. | ![]() |
Razor Scooters The year is 2001. The Razor Scooter has just been named Toy of the Year. You are officially the coolest kid on the block. Little did you know your shins would be sacrificed for the privilege. | ![]() |
Pogo Stick The ultimate summer competition: who could bounce the longest without wiping out? Bonus points if your pogo stick had a counter. Gabi’s did (quite literally the same one in the pic)… because apparently even our backyard injuries needed to be tracked. | ![]() |
Slip ‘N Slide The Slip 'N Slide wasn't complete unless someone was waiting at the end to get absolutely steamrolled. The hose stayed running all day long and we were blissfully unaware that our parents’ water bill was doing the same. | ![]() |
Moon Shoes Because apparently jumping on a trampoline wasn’t enough. We needed to strap these insane looking things to our feet and bounce around the yard while trying to avoid our ankles buckling. | ![]() |
Super Soakers Name a better feeling than showing up to a summer water fight with the biggest Super Soaker on the block. Suddenly, your friends were enemies, your backyard was a battlefield, and the only thing standing between you and victory was how fast you could refill. | ![]() |
Rainy Day Honorable Mention: Bop It! “Bop it! Twist it! Pull it!” Rainy days meant testing our reflexes and our parents’ patience with the sounds of Bop It! This is what we mean when we say we’re good in high-pressure situations. | ![]() |

…while you dig up your old hacky sacks in your childhood bedroom.

Okay, so who’s tried the viral melon sorbet yet?! Between this and all of the Ninja Creami recipes, it’s always frozen treat o’clock somewhere.

Speaking of nostalgia! Gabi definitely got her Pizza Hut Book It! meal for being the ultimate Little House On The Prarie super fan, and now Netflix has brought the series to life!
Thanks so much for throwing it back with us today! Hope the rest of your week is easy breezy.
