Your adult summer camp itinerary
H.A.G.S!

Hiiiii! We can’t believe we’ve finally made it to summer, after quite possibly the longest winter of all time?? Let’s not forget the sunscreen, though, okay, you guys?!
Song of the day: “What time is it?” Summertime!
Have a Q for WorkDaze or the podcast? Let’s hear it.
Your Adult Summer Camp Itinerary

These days, summers tend to look a lot different from the old days of riding your bike until the streetlights came on or dropping everything to chase down the ice cream truck (may or may not still do this tbh).
Adult summers are filled with work meetings, overflowing calendars, and filling out Doodle polls to coordinate a hangout months from now with friends. But just because we don't have time to pack our bags and head to summer camp, doesn’t mean we still can’t have some fun along the way.
Let’s chat about some things we can all do to lean into these next few months of sunshine, even with packed schedules.
🏓 Pick a hobby that won't end up on your résumé
We’re not really sure why, but somewhere along the way, we started feeling like every new skill had to be productive. So this summer, we challenge you to try something just because it sounds fun!! Take a pottery class, join a paddleball league, or finally try that hobby you've been saving on TikTok for three years. It’s less about self-improvement and more about having a good time.
🌃 Romanticize summer days in your city
Recreate the energy of a school field trip by exploring somewhere new, close to home. Check out your local museum, bookstore, or take a shelter dog for an outdoor adventure. We get it, summer’s busy. No flights, no PTO requests, no elaborate itinerary required.
📵 Give yourself a “no-phone first hour” summer rule
Before the notifications emails, or the scrolling of your friend’s cousin’s million-dollar wedding (you don’t even know her!), just exist for a bit. Sip some coffee outside with sunlight on your face, or take a walk and play the color game. It won’t fix all your problems, but it does make a regular Tuesday feel a little more like summer break.
Maybe adult summer doesn’t grant us the endless amount of free time anymore, but we can still have some fun if we make space for it. Consider this your permission slip to go try something new and let loose a little!

…after you eat an ice cream sandwich (from that truck you chased down) for lunch.

It’s officially grilling season, and WholesomeHilary’s Peach bruschetta burrata chicken is first on our summer dinner menu!

Thanks, Declan Collins, for the Was I Weird Last Night? flow chart, to help us determine if our anxiety after last weekend’s party is valid or not.

We love this article from In Her Thirties by women who don’t feel behind in life, written for the women who do.
Thanks so much for reading! We’ll see you guys back here in two weeks. H.A.G.S!
